Description

The former Van Nelle Factory was built between 1925 and 1931. The building is regarded as one of the most important industrial monuments in the Netherlands and is internationally renowned for its pioneering design in which air, light and space acquired a new meaning within architecture.

Since 2014, the factory has even been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The factory, where coffee, tea and tobacco was made until the XNUMXs, now houses several designers. It is not freely accessible to the public, but MUST SEE offers guided tours in the 'Glass Palace'.

Did you know…

The Van Nelle factory has been the symbol of revolution and progress for years? Today the building is in need of thorough maintenance, but a new investor has recently started working in the factory, so who knows what the future will bring ...

TIP:

Ask the guide if it is possible to go to the 'tearoom'. This is the glass tower on top of the Van Nelle Factory. From here you have a beautiful view over the city. Please note: this space is also often rented out and is therefore not always accessible.
