Among other things, the choice was made for the plane tree (Platanus x hispanica), because it is a fast-growing tree species that created a green street scene and shelter in the short term. Dozens of specimens of this tree species have been planted in this avenue, the Mathenesserlaan.

The municipality of Rotterdam is one of the few municipalities in the Netherlands that has a tree pot. Here, trees that are released from projects are temporarily cared for until they are given a new place in the city. Like the tree here on Mathenesserlaan has been replaced by a tree from the tree pot. Be sure to check out the video report!
