Description

In addition to horse chestnut and wingnut, there are more special trees in this park. For example, there are some Hungarian oaks (Quercus frainetto), which mainly grow on sunny, dry mountain slopes in South and Southwest Europe, but also do well here.

A young brown beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Altropunicea') stands next to a large conifer. This conifer (Cupressocyparis) is also often used as a hedge in gardens. The involvement of the local residents in Wijkpark Oude Westen is reflected in the facilities in the park.

Goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs are kept in the Dierenhofje. And at the back of the park, volunteers maintain an oasis of tranquility.
