The Maritime Museum now has a beautiful photo exhibition about professions in the port of Rotterdam! The exhibition consists of 22 large portraits and panoramas of 'port professions', made by regular World Port Days photographer Anne Reitsma. A number of images are provided with a QR code, which links to an in-depth video, in which the person in the photo talks about his job in the port. There are also QR codes that refer to videos about the exhibitions in the Maritime Museum.
“The aim was to capture the diversity of the port,” Reitsma said at the opening. “The diversity of the professions of today and of the future, but I have also mainly looked for women who work in what is often seen as a 'man's world'. I hope that the exhibition shows how the exciting, difficult and sometimes heavy work of these people makes many facets of our daily lives possible and what opportunities the port of Rotterdam has to offer.”
The photo exhibition can be seen from today until 30 September on the inner and outer facades of the Maritime Museum Rotterdam.
