The Binnenwegplein was completely redesigned in 2012 with natural stone containers containing Judas tree (Cercis), lily grass and snake's beard. The name Judas tree is taken from the tree on which Judas hanged himself. The species grows here as a tall shrub.
On the other side of the Binnenwegplein are two kinetic sculptures called 'Two Turning Vertical Rectangles'. These were installed in 1971 and were created by George Rickey.
