Welcome to the Binnenrotte! A spacious square, where, in addition to the Markthal, the Cube Houses and the weekly market, the Laurens Church can also be found. This church is one of the few buildings that remained standing after the German bombardment of the city. Moreover, the church is the last medieval building in the city center.
Rotterdam is a great historical gem: not only is the church impressive from the outside, but you can also marvel at the ornaments inside. Also give your ears a break: the acoustics under the tower are very special.

You can climb the tower? From March to October you can climb the tower every Wednesday at 14.00:12.00 PM and Saturday at 13.30:XNUMX PM and XNUMX:XNUMX PM. Definitely worth it for a beautiful photo and it is also good for your figure. Reservations are not possible - you can buy a ticket on the day itself in the Laurenskerk.
TIP:
You will probably see the Laurenskerk from the Binnenrotte. Walk around the church and you will arrive at Grotekerkplein. You can completely relax on the green grass or the benches. Since 2017, the square in front of the Laurenskerk has been completely renovated, making it one of the newest parks in Rotterdam.
Events are regularly organized on the large City Stage on the square, especially in the summer. And if you suddenly feel like having really good Vietnamese food: Little V, right next to the church, is highly recommended.
