Museum Rotterdam calls itself 'the Rotterdamest museum in the world'; well they sure are! Unfortunately, they had to close the main location, due to cutbacks in the subsidy by the municipality of Rotterdam. The Coolhaven location is still open, however.
Museum Rotterdam '40 -'45 NU (formerly the War Resistance Museum) is located under the Coolhaven Bridge. It is an interactive museum where you can experience what life was like during the war, what a bombardment feels like and of course about the occupation and destruction by the Germans.
I didn't know Rotterdam was that big in culture. It was nice to get to know Rotterdam better, recommended for anyone who doesn't want to get to know Rotterdam in the rain
