Description

The Jan Evertsenplaats forms a court that is managed by residents, but is publicly accessible. It is a peaceful oasis within the busy shopping district.

In 2013, a strip of perennials was planted, which, seen from above (from 'the observatory'), form a blue spiral. This is especially clear for the residents of the surrounding flats.

The iconic trees in this garden are an Italian poplar (Populus nigra 'Italica'), which is characteristic for its narrow columnar shape, and a hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), whose wood is very resistant to splitting and was used in the past for tools, among other things. You will also find a statue called 'Dancer' from 1955.
