Café Ari is a typical Rotterdam café of the well-known catering entrepreneur Ger Koedam. Named after the most Rotterdam first name you can think of, this is an excellent place to get to know the Rotterdammer.
Tout known Rotterdam comes along here. For years it was also the favorite pub of the now deceased night mayor Jules Deelder. In this cozy cafe you immediately feel at home for a snack and a drink. During the day it is a great place to settle down, but at night it can get wild. You can come here for a simple cup of coffee, well-filled sandwiches or a more extensive dinner.
The daughter of night mayor and regular guest Jules Deelder is also called Ari? For years it was rumored that the cafe is named after her. The Deelder family is good friends with the Koedam family and were the neighbors of café Ari until 2018. However, the café owes its name to the fact that Arie is the most Rotterdam-based name, and is therefore a nickname for 'the Rotterdammer'.
